AB - <p>El principal objetivo fue evaluar la función y nivel de la oficina de auditoría interna en la estructura organizativa del Ministerio de Desarrollo Social de Panamá para mejorar el control y la transparencia de la gestión en esta institución. La metodología incluyó un análisis exhaustivo de la estructura y funcionamiento actual de la oficina de auditoría interna, la identificación de sus principales limitaciones a través de encuestas a funcionarios claves, y la formulación de recomendaciones basadas en estándares internacionales y mejores prácticas. Se utilizaron documentos oficiales, estándares internacionales y resultados de encuestas que revelaron una necesidad importante de mayor independencia y de recursos para la oficina de auditoría interna. Por lo anterior, se concluyó que elevar la unidad de auditoría interna al nivel asesor, asegura su independencia y fortalece su capacidad a través de una adecuada asignación de recursos, capacitación y mejoras tecnológicas, que son pasos importantes para garantizar una gestión pública transparente y eficiente. </p>
