Abstract

This scientific article addresses a proposal for neuroeducational intervention with the aim of strengthening the skills of a child with Down Syndrome who has difficulties with oral language. It is a case study that was approached from the diagnosis, observation technique, interview and anecdotal record to favor the intervention. The mother and the preschool teacher were questioned. Likewise, the Neuropsychologist was asked to apply a psychometric battery to determine the child's real abilities and to determine his zone of proximal development. The integration of the data collected allowed the construction of an effective method for training the skills and brain functions required for language therapy to be effective. The evidence and timely decision-making allowed the creation of what is called the "Anita Method", which consists of the series of activities that strengthen self-esteem, somatosensory functions and the following of instructions of the child with Down Syndrome and which proposes a comprehensive approach based on training prior to entering language therapy.
